Mark plays New & Local Releases from: Amy Farrand, Black House Improvisors’ Collective, Be/Non, Monta At Odds, Xiu Xiu, Mariachi El Bronx, Sierra Leon’s Refugee Allstars, Parliament, and Gamelan Genta Kasturi.
At 10:30 Mark talks with Patrick Alexander, from Charlotte Street Foundation, who will give us all the details about the Urban Culture Project – Studio Residency – Open Studios Weekend, May 18-19. We’ll play music from Kansas City’s Gamelan Genta Kasturi, led by Patrick Alonzo Conway, and we’ll also hear from Black House Improvisors’ Collective led by Russell Thorpe. At 11:00 we welcome Mark Titus to Wednesday MidDay Medley as our Guest DJ for our second hour! Mark Titus will share music from the Pembroke Hill Glee Club from 1968, where he was a student from 1955 to 1967. Mark will play music from DMZ, the Boston based punk band that Mark was associated with with for 3 years in the mid 1970s. Mark will also play music from the KC Chorale in Kirkwood Hall. Mark will share stories of his journeys.
