WMM presents Rhythm & Seoul Radio with Meighan Peifer & Patricia Doherty
Mark welcomes Guest Producers: Meighan Peifer & Patricia Doherty the Hosts of Rhythm & Seoul Radio a new music show airing each month, on the 4th Thursday, at 7:00 PM on 90.1 FM KKFI. With Rhythm & Seoul Radio, Meighan & Patricia hope that listeners will enjoy the music chosen, and explore the beauty of the lyrics within the music. Patricia and Meighan hope to help aid in spreading the awareness of K-pop to the creative community of Kansas City.

Meighan Peifer is a former Special Education Teacher at US School District #500 for 15 years. She currently works as an AT Facilitator at US School District #512 in Shawnee Mission Schools. Meighan worked in television news production when she attended Drake University where she graduated in 1983. Meighan also operated cameras and was an on-air personality for several shows. Meighan served as Executive Producer of the award winning Kansas City documentary film “The Ordinance Project” Directed by Austin Williams. As a special education teacher, Meighan used a variety of musical genres in her classroom to increase or decrease a particular level of energy with her students. Though all of her experiences with music, two and a half years ago she discovered the depth and beauty of K -Pop music.

Patricia Doherty was born on the East Coast, and as the youngest of 4 children, she was destined to have eclectic musical taste. Patricia carved out her own niche, with a lean towards European 80’s alternative. In college, Patricia auditioned with 100 other applicants and was chosen for one of the 10 coveted DJ trainee spots for her college alternative radio station. She quickly moved up the training program and into having two “drive-time” shows. During her sophomore year, Patricia was elected into the role of Station Manager, and attended conferences in New York City as station representative. Within the last ten years, and while living in Southern California, Patricia’s son and daughter introduced her K-pop music. Upon her recent relocation back to the Kansas City area, she began the journey to become a programmer at KKFI, and joined forces with Meighan to help produce a K-pop radio show.
