Marion Merritt joined us as our special “Guest Producer.” For 13 years Marion has been sharing her musical discoveries and information from her encyclopedic brain with our Wednesday MidDay Medley listeners. Marion is the creator of Records With Merritt, a small, independent, minority owned business, at 1614 Westport Rd. in Kansas City, Missouri. Keeping alive the tradition of female-owned, independent record stores on Westport Road. Our area independent record stores make available Midcoastal releases from independent KC music artists and labels, while also hosting multiple weekly in-store shows featuring area and touring bands.

Momma’s Boy, is an Indie Surf Pop 4-piece band from Kansas City, Missouri, formed in December 2015, and made up of former members of Rev Gusto.
Momma’s Boy are: Peter Beatty on guitar & vocals, Shaun Crowley on guitar & vocals, Quinn Hernandez on drums, and the newest member, Jared Bajkowski on bass.
Momma’s Boy are set to release their debut EP, “Liquid Courage” with an EP Release Show, Thursday, February 23, at 10:00 PM at Replay Lounge, 946 Massachusetts Street in Lawrence, Kansas, with Dreamgirl and Shortsweather.
Momma’s Boy also play a “Liquid Courage” EP Release Show, Saturday, February 25, at 7:00 PM at The Tank Room, 1813 Grand Blvd, KCMO, with Rachel Mallin and The Wild Type, and Scruffy & the Janitors.
Joining us live in our 90.1 FM Studios are members of the band: Shaun Crowley and Quinn Hernandez.
All songs on Liquid Courage were written by Momma’s Boy. Liquid Courage was recorded, produced and mastered by Joel Nanos at Element Recording Studios with the exception of “Sleeping’” which was recorded and produced by Justin Mantooth at Westend Recording. Bass guitar on “Cool Heat” and “Sweet Girl” was by Anthony Hernandez.
