Mark plays New and Local Releases from: The Quivers, Dream Wolf, Hearts of Darkness, In Back of A Black Car, Folkicide, Spirit is The Spirit, The Blackbird Revue, David Burchfield, Hidden Pictures, Blackberry Winter Band, Thee Oh Sees, Cat Power, Antony and The Johnsons, Leonard Cohen, Sharon Van Etten, Slowdance, and Dent May.
At 10:30 Mark talks with Marideth Sisco, journalist, teacher, author, musician, and creator of Elder Mountain Press. She was discovered by producers of the film, “Winter’s Bone,” who asked her to be a part of the film and to serve as music consultant. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards. The band that created the music for the film, Blackberry Winter Band, will be performing at The Folly Theater, Saturday, August 18, at 8:00 PM, as a benefit for the Bright Futures Fund.
At 11:15 Mark talks LIVE with Terra Skaggs Peal and Bernie Dugan of The Quivers who join us to discuss their brand new release: “I Gots To Have It!” The Quivers and The Cave Girls play the KC Wednesday Night Jamboree at Aftershock, 5240 Merriam Dr, Shawnee, Kansas, starting at 7:00 PM.
And, during our second hour, we’ll be premiering the new single from: Dream Wolf, who’ll be in concert Friday, August 17, at the recordBar, with London Transit, In Back of a Black Car, and Vehicles.
