At 10:15 Mark talks with singer-songwriter-producer Sam Billen, from Lawrence, Kansas. Sam has been making music since he started piano lessons at the age of 8. Sam fronted the critically-acclaimed indie rock group The Billions, signed to the L.A. based Northern Records. In 2004, Sam started recording as a solo artist, and this year he released his 10th solo recording: “Places,” on his own new music label, Primary Color Collective. More information at: sambillen.com
At 10:45 Mark welcomes back to the show, Victor & Penny (Erin McGrane & Jeff Freling) who join us to discuss their new upcoming full-length release, “Side by Side,” inspired by their experiences on the road and the people they’ve met. Victor & Penny recorded the album in October, 2012, at The Cooler in Kansas City with local musicians and engineers. “Side By Side” will be released November 23, 2012. Ernest James Zydeco joins us to discuss their new full length recording, “3 Steps From La La” to be released November 30.
