Wednesday MidDay Medley presents part-three, of our four-week special: The 120 Best Recordings of 2023. Based on playlists of this little ole radio show, we’ve compiled representative tracks from our favorite full-length albums and EP recordings of 2023. We realize these “Best of” lists can seem subjective, so we ask that you please accept our list as a celebration of the year in music.

This Wednesday, we’ll count down from #60 through #31 of our list, with music from: Mireya Ramos & The Poor Choices, Kemet Coleman, Daisy Buckët, Paris Williams, Marty Bush, Anna St. Louis, The Whiffs, The Swallowtails, Erik Voeks & The Ghosters, Alyssa Murray, Nathan Corsi & My Atomic Daydream, Keo & Them, The Distant Now, Kirstie Lynn & Galen Clark, The Frightened Stag, Joy Zimmerman, Spine, Soultru, Wills Van Doorn, boygenius, Loraine James, The War & Treaty, Julie Byrne, Black Pumas, Blonde Redhead, Kara Jackson, Yo La Tengo, Sampha, Joy Oladokun, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

In 2023 we’ve broadcast nearly 900 different tracks on WMM over our 100,000 watts of 90.1 FM Community Radio Airwaves. Over 500 of these tracks were from New & MidCoastal Releases. We played tracks from National Releases, and MidCoastal Releases. 70 of the representative tracks in our “Best of” list are from MidCoastal Releases. We conducted over 150 interviews with 145 special guests. 50 of the bands and artists in our “Best of” list have joined us as guests on Wednesday MidDay Medley.
