New & Local Releases + “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”
+ “Bucket of Blood”

Mark plays more Local & New Releases from 16 area bands, including 7 bands that will be representing KC at the SXSW Music festival in Austin, Texas, for The MidCoast Takeover 2012. We’ll hear music from: Ghosty, The Grisly Hand, Molly Picture Club, Tommy Donoho of Dollar Fox, Mary Fortune, Vi Tran, run little rabbit, Maps for Travelers, Antennas Up, We Are Voices, White Girl, Dead Girls, The Cave Girls, Minden, The Clementines, Two Headed Cow, plus we’ll also hear new music from: Anais Mitchell and Cate Le Bon.

At 10:30 Mark talks with company members of the Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre Company‘s production of “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest,” Dale Wasserman’s stage adaptation of Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel that was first produced on Broadway in 1963, and later made into an Academy Award winning film directed by Milos Forman. The Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre’s production of “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” runs March 7 through March 25, and features: Jan Chapman as Nurse Ratched, Scott Cordes as McMurphy and is directed By Bill Christie. At 11:15 Mark Welcomes musician, actor, director Cody Wyoming with members of the creative team behind The Living Room Theatre‘s upcoming production of “Bucket of Blood” a new play directed by Cody Wyoming, and adapted by Mitch Brian from the Roger Corman 1959 film. The play features Kimberely Queen, Forrest Attaway, Damian Blake, Meredith Wolfe, Kelly Main, Brian Stubler, Emma Taylor, Matt Anderson, Coleman Crenshaw, and Bryan Moses. Providing the music will be Johnny Hamil, Jeff Freling, Kent Burnham, Christian Hankel, and Katie Gilchrist. “Bucket of Blood” opens March 22 and runs through April 1, at The Living Room, 1818 McGee, in Kansas City, MO.
