At 10:15 we are joined by organizers of The Westport Roots Festival, beginning Friday, May 27, at 8:00 PM with The Honky Tonk Pre Party at The Westport Saloon, 4112 Pennsylvania Ave, KCMO, with The Hardship Letters, Kasey Rausch and Friends, Dusty Rust, and Dale Watson at Midnight. The Westport Roots Festival continues on Saturday May 28, at 12:00 Noon through 2:00 AM at: The Westport Saloon, Ernie Biggs, Firefly Lounge, Californo’s, Buzzard Beach, and Doughnut Lounge, with over 60 performers of Honky Tonk, Bluegrass, Outlaw Country, Ameripolitan, Blues, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Cowpunk, and Roots music. On Sunday, May 29, at 12:00 PM, Roots Fest Recovery, at The Westport Saloon, presents special guests Mountain Sprout, and solo sets from: Joey Henry’s Dirty Sunshine Club, Brook Blanche, Joshua Morningstar, Billy Don Burns, and J.B. At 10:30 Mark talks with musician Rae Fitzgerald who is releasing a new album called, Popular Songs For Wholesome Families, with original songs she composed with Lucas Oswald. This is the third album from the Columbia, Missouri and Austin, Texas based singer songwriter. More information at:


At 11:00 Wednesday MidDay Medley welcomes KC based band, The Philistines with Kimmie Queen on lead vocals; Cody Wyoming on lead guitar & vocals; Rod Peal on guitar; Michelle Bacon on bass & vocals; Josh Mobley on keyboard, and Steve Gardels on drums. The Philistines were recently signed to The Record Machine, and are releasing their debut album, THE BACKBONE OF NIGHT, on June 4. The album was recorded & mixed with Paul Malinowski at Massive Sound Studios and mastered by Mike Nolte at Eureka Mastering. The Philistines play a special LP Release, at The Living Room, 1818 McGee Street, KCMO, on Saturday, June 4, with doors opening at 8:00 and Johnny Hamil’s GAV7D, at 9:00 The floor show entertainment begins with Damian Blake, Annie Cherry, Jon Piggy Cupit and Ron Megee, and at 10:00 The Philistines take the stage.
