The 120 Best Recordings of 2022
(Part 4 of 4)

WMM presents part-four, of our four-week special: The 120 Best Recordings of 2022. Based on playlists of this little ole radio show, we’ve compiled representative tracks from our favorite full-length albums and EP recordings of 2022. We realize these “Best of” lists can seem subjective, so we ask that you please accept our list as a celebration of the year in music.

This Wednesday, we’ll count down from #30 through #1 with tracks from: Plains, LYXE, Hembree, The Moose, The Grisly Hand, Scott Hrabko and The Rabbits, Carswell & Hope, Flare Tha Rebel, Monta At Odds, Eddie Moore, Kevin Morby, Stephonne, Ivory Blue, Making Movies, The Creepy Jingles, Katy Guillen & The Drive, The Elders, BLACKSTARKIDS, The Black Creatures, The Black Angels, Samara Joy, Spoon, Big Thief, Drugdealer, Danger Mouse & Black Thought, Mavis Staples & Levon Helm, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Aldous Harding, Melody’s Echo Chamber, and Wet Leg.

In 2022 we’ve broadcast nearly 900 different tracks on WMM over our 100,000 watts of 90.1 FM Community Radio Airwaves. Over 500 of these tracks were from New & MidCoastal Releases. We played tracks from National Releases, and MidCoastal Releases. 80 of the representative tracks in our “Best of” list are from MidCoastal Releases. We conducted over 120 interviews with 120 special guests. 50 of the bands and artists in our “Best of” list have joined us as guests on Wednesday MidDay Medley.
