At 10:30am Jocelyn Olivia Nixon and members of The Creepy Jingles share their new 6-track EP, AGAINST ALL OPPS, to be released August 28, 2026. The EP reflects the new line up of the band with Jocelyn Nixon on vocals, rhythm guitar, & songwriter; Andrew Woody on bass; Brian Hurtgen on drums, Joseph Peaks on lead guitar. For this EP Gailen Gillespie played synthesizers and was Master Engineer and Mixed the record. Josh Thomas was a Recording Engineer. This follows The Creepy Jingles album WASHED UP, released May 22, 2026, through Enigmatic Brunch Records. The Creepy Jingles are led by Jocelyn Nixon, a transgender wordsmith who charms with razor wit and dazzles with her lyrical acrobatics. The Creepy Jingles play an EP Release Show, Friday, August 28 at miniBar, 3810 Broadway, KCMO with Hotel Leo’s Album Release Show, & Teri Quinn & The Coyotes. The Creepy Jingles play Hillsiders, 403 N. 5th Street, KCK, on Friday, October 2, with The Roseline and True Lions. The Creepy Jingles play Sk8bar, 209 Westport Rd., KCMO, on Saturday, October 10, with Spy World.

At 11:00 Mark talks with Alison “Al” Hawkins & Fritz Hutchison. Al Hawkins is a queer songwriter, fiddler, music teacher, and leader of True Lions, a band which often includes Fritz Hutchison —a drummer, singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer, bandleader, friend, and Kansas Citian. Al & Fritz share details about COLD GRAVY BOWL an album they released in March 2024 and COLD GRAVY BOWL II: THE COLDEST BOWL a stage show that invites the audience into a fictional “live taping” of the famous Amos Biskit’s Weekly Barn Burner – an old timey television variety program featuring country music and family friendly humor, brought to you by Gravé Brand Gravy – a mysterious corporation with a delicious and popular product. COLD GRAVY BOWL 2: THE COLDEST BOWL will premiere at Charlotte Street foundation, 3333 Wyoming, KCMO, on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29, 2026, with Doors at 7:00pm.

At 11:30 we welcome Derek Trautwein & Amanda Davis. Derek is a KC-based director, actor, producer, designer, playwright, educator, and creator & artistic director of “The Spooky Shxt Show”. He has worked at KC Public, Olathe Civic Theatre, Just Off Broadway Theatre, KC Melting Pot, Stuffed Buffalo Productions, The Living Room, KC Horrorfest, and KC Moliere. Amanda is a KC-based artist, designer and the Creative Marketing Director for “The Spooky ShXt Show”. Amanda creates art for Mandolin Artworks and runs an international PR company. Derek & Amanda are preparing for their Annual Fundraiser – BEACH BASEMENT PARTY on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Hula Hoop KC, 4247 Walnut St. KCMO. The Spooky ShXt Show is preparing for two exciting shows for their 2026/2027 season: CHUCKY’S PLAY – October 22-24 at Westport Bowery, and SCREECH – February 19-27 at The Arts Asylum.
