At 10:30 Singer Songwriter Julia Othmer and Bill Sundahl, KKFI’s Development Director join us to share information about 90.1 FM’s 30th Anniversary Celebration at The Folly Theatre, June 30, at 7:00 pm. Two all-star bands led by Clint Ashlock, Director of KC Jazz Orchestra, and Michelle Bacon, of The Band Who Fell to Earth will demonstrate KKFI’s diverse programming backing up songs performed by The Elders, Julia Othmer, Sara Morgan, Kemet the Phantom, Kadesh Flow, Una Walkenhorst, Cubanisms, Pablo Sanhueza, Ernest James Zydeco, Bob & Diana Suckiel, Jason Vivone, Junebug, Robert Rodriguez, Greg Conchola, Rosie’s Bar & Grill, and more. At 11:00 we talk with Chris Haghirian of Ink & The KC Star, and Eight One Sixty on 90.9 The Bridge, with Nathan Reusch co-founder of The Record Machine. Chris and Nathan are the founders and organizers of the Middle of The Map Fest and they will share music and info about Middle of the Map Fest, Friday, June 29, and Saturday, June 30, at Crossroads KC, 417 E 18th St, KCMO with Built To Spill, Grizzly Bear, Social Distortion, Spoon, Nikki Lane, and more, with shows in adjacent Crossroads venues at: recordBar, The Brick, Green Lady Lounge, and Black Dolphin and Saturday Day Parties at Messenger Coffee, Josey Records, Mills Record Company, Res Downtown, Temple Sounds, and more.
